When is OI-TI recommended?

If a woman is not ovulating regularly or not ovulating at all (anovulation), OI-TI may be recommended to stimulate ovulation and increase the chances of conception.
When couples have been trying to conceive for a significant period of time without success and no specific cause of infertility has been identified, OI-TI may be attempted as an initial treatment to optimize the timing of intercourse.
OI-TI may be recommended if there are issues with the cervix affecting sperm transport or survival within the reproductive tract.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The OI-TI(Ovulation Induction With Timed Intercourse) is basic procedure where ovulation is induced medically and then monitored for right time to have intercourse for higher chance of conceiving.

Infertility Assessment
Before the start of treatment, severity and type of infertility is understood. This has three steps-
OVULATION INDUCTION
Once the baseline assessments are complete, the woman will typically begin treatment with ovulation-inducing medication or injection. These medications stimulate the ovaries to produce and release one or more eggs.
MONITORING
Throughout the ovulation induction process, the woman's response to the medication is monitored closely. This may involve regular ultrasound scans to monitor follicle development and blood tests to measure hormone levels.
EGG RELEASE
Ovulation induction cycles are followed by a hCG injection to induce ovulation, the final maturation of the egg and loosening of the egg from the follicle wall.
TIMING OF INTERCOURSE
Based on the monitoring results, the fertility specialist will advise the couple on the optimal timing for sexual intercourse to maximize the chances of conception.
OI-TI Procedure
After the assessment is done and patient is declared medically fit to undergo the treatment, OI-TI procedure will begin
Test for Pregnancy
Approximately 10-14 days after embryo transfer, a pregnancy test is performed to determine whether implantation has occurred and pregnancy has been achieved. If the test is positive, ongoing prenatal care is initiated to monitor the progress of the pregnancy.
